1. Turn off the computer.
2. Open the computer case.
3. Find an open 5.25" bay to put the CD-RW in.
4. Screw the CD-RW into the bay (screws not included with the CD-RW).
5. Check to see if the IDE cable connected to the CD-ROM can support two IDE devices (i.e. check to see if there is an open plug on the IDE cable). If it cannot support two devices, use an IDE cable that can support two devices.
6. If you have a CD-ROM already installed, check the jumper setting on the CD-ROM to make sure it is set to "MASTER".
7. Set the jumper setting for the CD-RW to "SLAVE".
8. Plug the IDE cable into the CD-RW. Make sure the red line on the IDE cable is next to the power plug on the CD-RW.
9. Plug the power supply to the CD-RW.
10. If you would like to use the CD-RW for audio purposes, you will need to plug the audio cable (included) into the CD-RW and onto your sound card.
11. Close the computer case and turn on the computer.
* If you already have a CD-ROM: check under My Computer to see if there are two CD-ROM devices there. If not, check to see if you set the jumpers correctly.
* In order to write a CD with the CD-RW, install the CD Recording software.
