V.92 and V.44 are the latest standards for modems. With V.92 you can improve your upload speed, accept calls while online, and shorten connection time. V.44 gives you a better compression rate to speed up modem processes.
Only certain modems can be upgraded to V.92 because of hardware issues. You need to have a V.92 upgradeable modem in order to achieve the latest standard.
Currently, ISPs are still working out the V.92 upgrade issues. Once the issues are cleared, we will have the V.92 upgrade software available for you.
